Visiting the Hall Family

Alsfeld Germany

8-11 November 2003

(I gave Judi a break and did this site for a change)

Over Veterans' Day weekend, we traveled to Germany to visit my former supervisor,
Astrid Hall and her family (husband, Ken, and son, Miles).

We flew to Frankfurt, then took the train to Fulda.  Our first adventure on this trip was mastering the German Train system.  The train was comfortable and fast. One prime benefit of traveling by train is the scenery...

At Fulda, we changed trains going on to Alsfeld...this train was not as elegant, but still a great way to travel.

The Halls welcomed us into their new home...
a beautiful three-story house within walking distance of the town of Alsfeld.

Here are photos of our two youngest hosts: Miles and his dog, "Mighty" Quan

More of the entourage...Miles, Ken, and Quan; Astrid and Judi are by the car.  The streets in Alsfeld are quaint.  We visited the butcher, the baker, and ice cream maker, as well as some great small shops.

The town has been beautifully restored and is filled with so much history.

This clock tower is the center of attention in the town.

immersive image experience of the streets in Alsfeld.

We had a great time and look forward to visiting them again.
